Navigating Life with Ethics

Navigating Life with Ethics

by Frank Stronghorse

Ethics are defined, by modern man, as morals or sets of behaviors that determine right from wrong and good from bad. This definition was somehow slipped into the dictionary by the religious image makers who decided to capitalize on ethics by turning the people away from what ethics actually were and towards a moral set of rules and laws that they defined.

Ethics have nothing to do with morals. Ethics are an individualistic, intuitive set of beliefs that one develops over lifetimes and serves as a continuum between you and your Creator. Out of these beliefs come actions and behaviors which define for you and your soul a rational basis for existence. For most humans, their ethics are anchored into Mother Life and Mother Earth, although they don’t consciously know it. Ethics have a natural flow about them that serves to heighten one’s connection to the Divine. Consequently, ethics are the steering mechanism or rudder to your spirit canoe. When you pass over, your ethics become the guiding light that leads you towards your higher self as well as the determining factor in your choices in how you choreograph your following lifetimes. Therefore, ethics and how you manage your ethics, become paramount in everyone’s life.

When someone doesn’t operate with ethics, they are rudderless and wandering in chaos and confusion. The void that is shaped by this absence is filled with ego and all of the dark arrows. People become addicted to the presence of the ego and the dark arrows because they neither understand nor have given any thought to the importance of ethics. Chalk another one up to the religious image makers. By substituting morals for ethics, they have diluted the importance of ethics and created a variable within people’s lives that neither motivates them to follow nor offers any valid reasoning for adhering to their dictates. Morals only serve to create guilt, blame and shame in the human’s emotional state so that their hearts will belong to the church. Because the morals are so dogmatic and run against the inner animal nature of man, humans find that they cannot obey and thus seek forgiveness. And who is there to offer the forgiveness?

Ethics were gifted to you when you birthed your soul. Ethics are the glue that keeps the soul within the gravitational pull of the Creator. Ethics are challenged, forgotten, reclaimed, and consciously integrated by humans over lifetimes of existence. They are the measure from which one gathers the Forbearance of the the soul and they are the waters of life from which Will draws its strength.

Ethics don’t need to be defined, they just are. Ethics rule themselves and have no need of any type of institutional judgement or dogmatic opinions. When one enters into the dream-time, via trance, ethics are what one uses to hold the space. They anchor one into the sacred and planetary dream that each person possesses. Ethics determine and define who and what you are to the participants of the dream-time. Ethics gauge the amount of respect that you hold in the spirit world. Ethics partition the dream-time and act as the spirit guide from which one gathers experience in the spirit world.

Ethics provide instantaneous response time within the spirit world because ethics are immediately available and familiar. Substituting morals for ethics in the spirit world would result in the “deer in the headlights” response time. Morals have no validity within the spirit world because they are shallow and lack substance. Morals are for mortals and ethics are for immortals. Ethics are known without actually knowing. When you are practicing the art of “not doing”, it is ethics which rule the moment. Consequently, ethics are the guiding light and the rudder that take one into the unknown and the unknowable. Ethics are your companion and the mantel of power of your higher self.
One could probably list various ethics which rule their lives, but it is easier to use recapitulation and discover where ethics kicked into gear when you were faced with sudden situations wherein your response was immediate and forceful. There may even be situations wherein one would have had a very different response to a particular occasion if one were to follow a moral versus an ethical impulse. In fact, you may be able to find situations wherein you chose a moral ground but felt empty because your choice or choices were in direct conflict with your ethics.

Ethics come from a soul’s knowing of itself. Since the movement of spiritual maturity involves the soul’s greater knowing of itself, the evolution of ethics will accompany this movement. Ethics, although steady in steed, shift as needed, automatically, to accommodate the soul in its journey towards completion. Just as character defines the persona of the human, ethics defines the nature of the spirit of the soul. Ethics are carried forth, via trial and error, through lifetimes to form a foundation and reference point for the soul to anchor into and use to “hold the space.” Some would chose to call this power, but power is really just the compounded knowledge that the soul stores in its journey towards fulfillment and completion.

The written human history of ethics, especially virtuous ethics, began with Plato and Aristotle. However, their arguments focused solely upon human thoughts and actions as it related to self and others. For instance, one’s happiness could, arguably, be dependent upon one’s practice of virtuous ethics. However, to the best of our knowledge, these arguments did not take into account the duality of man, the physical existence and the spiritual existence. There is no argument that the actions of a human in alignment with the cultural standards of virtuous ethics and the cultural standards of morality would function to assist or take away from one’s happiness within that culture. However, when considering the practice of virtuous ethics within a culture that has no recognition or reference point for the soul’s existence and the overlapping reality of a spiritual dimension, one may find one’s self on the outside looking in. Would one’s ethics then be considered virtuous? Probably not. Therefore, the truest sense of the words, virtuous ethics, has got to be an individual interpretation and one that allows the spirit of the human to be loyal to the lineage of their inherited ethical knowledge.

Spiritual ethics are vastly different than physical ethics. Certainly they interact with one another and define patterns of behaviors, but physical ethics shift and change with the cultural norms whereas spiritual ethics hold steady throughout time. Spiritual ethics are boundaries within which the spiritual soul self measures itself and defines itself to itself. If we are made in the image of God, then one could say that our spiritual ethics are the mirror to the spiritual ethics of our Creator.  If God is viewing us as a measure upon which He can view Himself, then ethics become the sounding board within which we experiment with our virtue to determine what works and what doesn’t.

Within the Melchizedek world, ethics hold a special place. As transformers, our ethics are the guiding Light that allows others to progress out of their darkness. We are most often not recognized by our physical appearance, but by our energetic appearance. Our soul and our soul’s knowing of itself is the major attracting force for our work upon this and other planets. Our ethics are our tools that allow us the boundaries within which we make repairs. Unless we know our tools and which tools are most appropriate for each job, we tend to gather with the rudderless and wander around trying to understand why we feel so lost. Therefore, in whatever manner you perceive as best, one must become familiar with their ethics to a sufficient degree as to know them as your most important and intimate allies.
Ethics are not politically correct, nor gender specific, nor religiously or socially specific. Ethics are the intuitive knowing that the Creator is you and you are the Creator. When you have this inner knowing, your mode of behavior states loud and clear that you have ethics. If someone tries to challenge or compete with you, your ethics are your fall back position. They become your source of inner strength and stability. Your ethics are your mantel and shield…literally. Whenever you put on a mantel or carry a shield, it reflects who you are and it is your ethics that announces it. It is your ethics that gives your spirit sword power. Whenever you present yourself in the spirit world, it is your ethics that speak the loudest.

Whenever life has driven you down and crushed your will into submission. Whenever you lie empty of all energy and devoid of purpose, your ethics are still there. They never abandon you. They are always on call and can pull your spirit out of the darkest hole. Ethics can never be taken away from you. They are special to you and they are all that you are. Just as you must make Death an ally, so must you let your ethics also become your allies. Every silent moment held in reverence strengthens your ethics. Every ceremony and prayer offered to the Divine adds another fiber to the rope of your soul’s thread to the Creator. Lifetimes of devotion, sacrifice, and knowing further strengthens your ethical thread.

When you strip away all of the various cultural belief systems, all of the religious dogmatic ritual, all of the social and political jockeying for position, at the most basic level, it is ethics that provides the basis for the authenticity of the human…everywhere.

As we move into this new world wherein the lessons of the past will define the nature of the human in the future, it is ethics which will take a front row seat. Ethics are something that all humans share in abundance and it is a reservoir of commonality from which all humans draw strength. Ethics bond us together as souls searching for meaning and purpose. Ethics separate us out from the illusions of our addiction to ego and false trappings. Our ethics are the same for the most wealthy among us as they are for the street beggars…we just don’t explore that aspect of our shared human-ness.

Ethics is the mainstay of the faith and ethics are what make it both timeless and indefensible. It really doesn’t matter how dark or Light you are, when ethics come to town, there simply is no defense. Ethics are the core of every healers talent and ethics rule the healing power of the faith. When confronted with the truth of our Creator’s ethics, fantasy and illusion melt away. Consequently, as Melchizedeks, it is our ethics which both precede us, stand beside us, and remain when we are gone. It is our ethics, correlated to the ethics our faith and the Creator, which are the primary driver for transformation.

As we sail into our future, ethics will be the flagship from which spring the new examinations of our shared human being-ness. Ethics allow us to communicate without the need to prove right from wrong nor good from evil. Ethics are beyond these paradoxes and shall become the guiding light for the manifestation of balance on Mother Earth and within Mother Life. Rejoice in these gifts and allow them to flourish, for they shall define you and shall always remain as your legacy.
